Can I special order MKC with Reserve trim, but request that the roof window NOT be installed?

If not, maybe you could order a Select package with the power liftgate (which is already an option with the Select) and a power steering wheel (which is not), since those are the options that you seemed to be most interested in that you do not have.

I drove an MKC with the kick liftgate (as opposed to the power liftgate) and personally, I don't think it offers a whole lot more than the power liftgate. But then again, we're not the kind of people that shop a lot or are carrying infants/toddlers such that both our arms are so loaded down that we can't push a button on the outside of the liftgate to open it.

We ended up with the Select package because my wife preferred no panoramic roof......although she would have loved those Reserve ventilated seats!!
I seriously doubt that you could order the Reserve without the glass roof. I special ordered my Reserve from the factory, and wanted the 18 inch wheels that go on the Select instead of the standard Reserve wheels. I escalated this through the dealership, and was told that this deviation in the factory build was not possible. This factory wheel swap is simpler (in theory) than what you want to have done.

I wound up getting the dealer to swap the wheels for another MKC on the lot, after a fair amount of negotiation.

We specifically ordered the Select model so we can have a garage door opener, upgraded wheels and the panoramic roof delete. The Reserve trim does not have the roof delete option. Should be getting the V.I.N. any day now as it was ordered Feb 26/15
Neither group has a delete option. The Panoramic Vista Roof is not included in the Select Equipment Group. It is offered as an available option at $1700.

Your right. It's standard on the Reserve. We didn't want it so we chose the Select where it didn't have to be included.
In any event its all moot now as the car was ordered Feb 26, built on March 30 and the Etis sheet shows that the interor Ebony trim includes interior wood trim accents (Zebrano) (hideous) which is totally wrong as we had repeatedly specified Sonata spun aluminum and had written this on the options sheet. Unacceptable! How can they screw a simple little request like that?

Zebrano is not hideous. The order is only as good as the person(s) entering the order. No body writes on an option sheet anymore, boxes are simply checked on the order form on a computer and also printed out for the customer.

How did you get yours so quick? Seeing how Bob Evans ordered one back in late December and is still waiting. :|

Color is a matter of choice and in the eye of the beholder. The salesman and sales manager were both there when we specified Ebony with Sonata Spun Aluminum and wrote this down on the sheet which the sales manager acknowledged and took to process the order. When he returned he had put a check mark by the Ebony Leather with Sonata Spun Aluminum I had written.
I would guess that this is evidence of his contractual agreement to this option.
I was also surprised at the build date of March 30th. The order was placed on Feb 26 and when I had received the VIN they told me it would be delivered on about April 27. I will be seeing the salesman this morning to see what they are going to do as we will not accept this car with this trim.
Looks like they are going to look for a similarly equipped MKC like I ordered and if not found I'll be getting my deposit back. OK with me so far.

Dealership is going to do everything in their power to change out the six trim pieces - this will have to be to my satisfaction.
The dealership was able to transfer all the Sonata Spun Aluminum appointments from a new MKC they had on the lot and were able to satisfy my order details so I completed the purchase. So far, so good. Did about a 600 mile trip this weekend. Only thing noticed was some kind of black substance was coming of the top of the interior of the glove box getting all over everything. Will have dealership check this out.
