Our MKC is experiencing a new problem that started today. The sound coming from the stereo speakers (AM/FM/Sirius) sounds weak and tinny. It sounds as though the amplifier is not working properly. The radio seems to have no midrange or bass. I found the amp in the back of the car by the spare tire and it was warm to the touch. Has anyone experienced this type of problem? Will contact the dealer for an appointment in the coming days. I am growing tired of the reliability and lack of quality of some of the cars components.

I'm really sorry to hear that you, yet again, are experiencing another problem. You certainly have had more than your share. It makes you wonder why some MKCs seem to be relatively free of problems (besides those known - heated seats, Sirius radio, etc.) and others seem to be one problem after another. I hope that it is an easy fix for you.

Our MKC has been at the Ford dealership for one week now due to the stereo problem. They have apparently pulled out the touch screen on the dash and believe that some sort of control unit is the culprit. We are in a rental car arranged by the dealership. I plan on stopping by the dealership early next week to see where they are at on the repair. Years ago I would have been irate about the issue, but I now try to not let things like this stress me out. It is frustrating to have purchased a car that I believed would have been engineered and built to high standards. Lincoln/Ford as a manufacturer needs work to increase the quality of their products before shoving them out the door.

Stereo System Problems (among other issues)

My 2015 MKC is giving me sound system problems also. Took the vehicle to the dealership because no sound was coming from the front speakers (upgraded THX system). They diagnosed as a "failed amplifier." The dealer replaced the amp and now I have no sound coming from the rear speakers (only fronts). I am becoming increasingly frustrated with this vehicle. The leather on the rear of the front seats is poorly fitted (dealer did nothing). I've had a rear shock replaced (leaking) and a poorly fitted inside panel on rear hatch that had to be replaced. The MKC is not even one year old! I'm really second guessing myself for this choice.

I have found that my MKC will "Seek and he shall not find!" A single radio station - ever. I can ask (voice command) for any station I want and get it automatically tuned by the nice Siri like MKC female voice, but push the seek button between the knobs and the stations roll on by pausing briefly, but skipping on and on and on and never locking on till I do something to stop it. Anyone else had this issue?

No. My seek button functions fine and gets a workout on trips out of standard preset areas. If I look for a ballgame on AM it does have trouble locking, but I attribute this more to weak AM reception to begin with. AM tuners are pretty bad these days.
Seek gets punched alot when I run USB tunes too.
They did an A-1 job placing the Vol, Seek, Tune controls.....

We got our MKC back from the dealership early last week. The amp was replaced and the THX audio system is up and running again. I am hopeful that this will be the last problem we will have for a while.

I'm glad to say that the seek problem was an oversight on my part. The stereo seek setting was searching ONLY for TALK radio stations which it could never find on the FM band. I dug into the settings and reset it to seek ALL types of stations and now no problem. It furthers my opinion that the software people are messing about too much with new "features" that only complicate simple tasks. Ok - if they're going to make a feature like this, why not give users selection boxes so we could seek classic rock, news, and traffic if we choose them, and left out talk radio, weather (look outside), sports, and country if we wanted to leave them out. See - it takes so long to push all the screen buttons to switch what to seek that the feature is practically useless. It's adding to the layers of controls and creating (in my opinion) a more dangerous car. Too much tasking of the driver to look at the screen and not the road.

I am liking the voice command button more and more, but it's time consuming too and sometimes a hard logic to learn.

Squawking from the rear suspension very bad today. Gone tonight. Driving me crazy!

Nope, dealer says failed module (of some sort). They replace module (took two weeks in the service dept.) Now the controls on center stack for Heated/Cooled seats, Auto temp don't work!! Randy Wise Lincoln, Flint, MI, is the dealer. Not enough time in my world to visit the service dept. this many times [for a one year-old-vehicle].

For Sale: 2015 Lincoln MKC, Ingot Silver, 2.0, Reserve Group, CCD, THX, Climate Pkg., 19" Wheels

THX amp version is updated from B to E. Part # is EJ7Z-18B849-E. It is very easy to replace the amp, but I do not recommend to do it by yourself because something needs to be reprogrammed for it to work correctly! :crying

My 2015 MKC had the same problem. Intermittently at start up there would be no sound out of front speakers at all. Some times it would kick in 2 minutes later, other times it would take over 45 minutes. Took to dealership and diagnosed that its the "Digital Signal Processing Module"
$1300 later and everything works again.

I wasn’t the person you were replying to but so you know THX stereos had major problems with the digital sound processing unit, this is that amplifier underneath the spare tire cover
