Sync 3 2.2 Update

Its installed. Took about 15mins

Notice any changes?

Updated via USB this morning. Took about 20 min to download from Lincoln owner site to PC and unzipping of files
Site states about 30 min required to upload to SYNC, it took at least 20

After upload SYNC states upload will complete upon next engine start and phone will need to be relinked.
System did not update to 2.2 from 1.0 upon engine restart. Second time engine was started SYNC did update and clearly indicates 2.2 is running. Phone did not have to be relinked.

Only change I see is addition of Android tile. Will update USB hub soon to see if link to iPhone initiates Apple Car Play functions.
Otherwise no appearance or operational change has been experienced. Will see what may happen as we continue to use.

Is the update for MKC 2016 or 2017?
I checked the website mine is up to date v2.0 MKC 2017.

Noticed some minor tweeks in this version, mainly graphics and a new voice for the Nav. I did get the updated USB hub installed and have tried car play, one thing I don't like is that you can't use the factory NAV while car play is enabled.

Update is for the 2016. Your 2017 should have Carplay and all other current updates from the factory.

My 16 just auto updated to Sync 2.2 the other day

Everything seems to be functioning, I did notice a change in some of the graphics in Climate Control.

I did not see a CarPlay App available either.

What is the USB Upgrade I have seen posted and What does it cost?

2017 MKC has Sync 3 v2.0 out of the factory, at least that's what I have. I am hoping this fixes the Traffic List issue, but when I check for update it tells me that I have the latest version and I am too afraid to use the USB update method. Hopefully it will be pushed to 2017s soon.

If your MKC has a modem in it, it should auto update as long as auto update is turned on. With a modem you can also connect it to your home wifi too.

If it does not auto update just bring it to the dealer and have them do it, it should be free for a 17.

Thanks, I did let the car connect to my home WiFi and scan for update again and it still said that I have the latest. I will see if it does auto update this weekend, if not, I am due for my 10K service soon and will let them know then.

I have a 2016 running sync3 version 1.0.
My car connects to wifi at home but has not updated to 2.2 yet. I decided to try the USB install method, and when I login to the Lincoln owners site it says there is an update available for v2.2. When I click to download, a pop up says the service is unavailable and to try later. This has been happening for a week on multiple operating systems and web browsers. I tried calling Lincoln and they said it was a known issue and that someone would call back which has not happened yet.

I am curious if others have had this problem and if so how did you solve it?

I also have the CarPlay compatible USB socket on order and should have that late next week.
