I logged into my owners account to see my SYNC Services subscription has expired and needs renewal. I thought we received this for 4 years but it looks like only 1? I just hit my one year a few weeks ago..

When I signed up for SYNC Services on the Lincoln owner website, I printed out the page with renewal information. It states, "Your complimentary subscription is active until 6/1/2016. You must renew your subscription every year at no cost to continue using these services. If you are at the end of your complimentary subscription, there may be a charge to renew SYNC services. When it's time to renew, we'll remind you of this both in your vehicle and when you log on to owner.lincoln.com." So we have to renew each year, but it's free. I think the "end of your complimentary subscription" refers to the 6-year Sirius Traffic/Travel Link period.

Yes, I went into owners account and there was a message to renew so I clicked on it. When I was in my car today I see that it is all still active. I was pretty certain that we got it for longer than a year because I remember being happy to have it for the traffic stuff. :smile

Same thing happened in my 2012 MKZ. Had to renew Sync Services and accept the EULA terms each year. No big deal, especially since it was free.

Seriously, if you already have an account you should be able to log in, go through the renewal process and not be charged.

Does anyone know what the SYNC applications on page 405 of the owners manual do?
There is no description anywhere in the My Lincoln Touch section.
It appears to be associated with SYNC services.
Whenever I try to download the apps it says something about not having some root connection.
HELP and thanks.

I have 2015 MKC reserve package with SYNC 2 with My Lincoln Touch.
In the Install apps/updates section,then Begin install amesssage says"file not found,check installation root directory of storage device".
I am at a loss to understand.
Any help appreciated.

I too am at a loss, I believe that was for future development that has not happened, and is likely not to happen based on cloud services and them moving to different technologies.

I had SYNC 2 in my 2011 Edge and any upgrade was done via a thumb drive (download from the Web and upload into Sync 2). Sync 3 works via WiFi in your garage. Regarding upgrades to SYNC 2, I suspect its fairly dead in terms of enhancements. Fixes may come up but functionality improvements????
