yup, I believe i said (and someone else) that they are changing to continental grille eventually. I loved the new continental grille when I saw it at the car show, looked great with lights hitting it, not sure if it will be same exact one. Would like to see what it would look like if they subtly changed the "links" to little Lincoln symbols..

I do like the split wing but this is cool too. Would have to actually see how it translates to the SUV's though..
Ford's Lincoln brand debuts new face for its best-selling model

another article about it..

Who can photoshop the grille on an MKC so we can see what it looks like..I just formatted my computer with photoshop on it and need upgrade for new version I want..anyone have it handy now or I'd do it...

It will probably show up when the MKC is refreshed which is probably a couple of years away I would suspect. Also with talk of moving the MKC to another plant, 2017 may be too soon to see that type of change. Maybe 2018???
I'll look forward to seeing it in person at the L.A. Show this coming week. I recall going to an owners event about a year and a half ago where we were shown a early version of the new Continental and a prototype of the MKZ with the Continental grille, but I don't remember the integration being that smooth at the time. It looked "tacked on" as an afterthought. Will be interested to see what it looks like in person. Still thinking I might like to go back to the hybrid when my MKC lease it up in 2 years, so that would mean this upcoming version of the MKZ.
Nice, it will be at LA show next week? Take some pics. Tried to get pics of continental at NY show but it was a complete zoo, never seen the show so crowded.
Crude but gives an idea of the look for an MKC

Wonder about headlight design - love the way the bottom LEDS fire up in wave pattern at the bottom (if you check out video on MKZ on Lincoln site)

^^ I personally don't like it.

For the Continental, I wasn't that impressed either when I saw it at the NY auto show. I personally like the split wing grill on the MKC. Totally different than any other CUV on the market.

I like the way the split wing looks on the MKC too, to me it's more angled correctly and silly as it sounds gives the look like a smiling face almost. I did like the new grille on the continental. I love the "linked" look and felt it fit the face of the way the front of the continental is designed. The MKZ has a slightly "angrier" look because of the way the DRLs and front bumper look. I think it fits as well and is in general a nice change for the brand as far as getting a "refreshed" look and doing what they are trying to do( attract new buyers). In the very least it is not as in your face as the Lexus change.

Overall I had been looking at some articles/pictures of 2017s coming out and a lot of manufacturers are doing pretty bold grilles IMO. A lot of big plastics sticking out which is what I don't like and want to move away from. I could not get close enough to touch the continental grille but I'm wondering the actual material of it.

^ Agreed. The split wing look a whole lot better on the MKC's and very distinct,it falls into place and pretty much everything else flows FROM it.

yes, flow is the correct word I was looking for...it does flow perfectly.

But then again who says they wont reshape the new design to better flow with the front of the MKC and MKX. The continental and MKZ are sedans and are lower to the ground and just a different style. Only time will tell, like blankster said I cant see them rolling this out before 2018 at the rate they do things at Lincoln like not putting sync 3 in the new MKX, they take their time it seems so I see it in the sedans first. I also cant see them keeping both designs (split wing for SUVs including navigator and new grille for sedans) so my guess would be eventually all lincolns will have the new "linked" grille (that's how I describe it)

I'm not in the market for sedans and if I was it would not be Lincoln but I have to say they really gave it a design that is fresh and looks different from everyone else. At least the front view angle. Think its very nice and a needed new look for the sedans...
looks a bit like Dodge
Yeah maybe a little...but dodge has all that black plastic and huge "cross" in middle.
I used to use Dodge products years ago....the only thing I would consider by Dodge is a Viper GTS nowadays!
When the Nitro came out my husband had to have it..was one of first to have the 30 GB MY Gig entertainment system which was huge back then! We love music so it was a must. Hated the way it looked though. My husband and I have completely opposite tastes in cars. Too boxy for me and hard to get in and out of. First cars to start coming out in the burnt orange color which I did like. He got the R/T loaded version with leather seats but they were very hard. Two weeks into owning something major blew with a radiator something...but they took it fixed it and never had another problem and sold it after 4 years...

Get it soon Viper goes away in 2017.
The split wing grill was one of the things that drew my attention to the MKC. Lincoln and Ford have had ugly grills for too many years and other brands started to follow the trend to ugly. To be honest, it reminds me of "chicken netting".

Have you been to the LA show yet? Did you see the LR EVOQUE convertible..that's what I want to see in person.
Grab some pictures of the concepts if you can, MKZ, new 2017 escape, new Infiniti (although I just saw they made the back window like the 60- I don't know that "z" effect with the back passenger window,I don't like it).
Waiting for the new MB GLC to hit my Mercedes dealer so I can see that one, they say it due on their floors "any day now".

We go to the NYC show every year and I was bummed because it was so ridiculously crowded you just could not stand and take the real time to look at the cars. We bring our young car fanatic son and I'm more worried trying to keep my eye on him in the crowd. The continental was there but you couldn't get near it on the day we were there and I was dying to see some mclarens but the crowds around those made it almost impossible. Saw that new Hyundai truck-super cool and the new off road Kia and fiat were also pretty cool. Wish I had time to do the test drives too.

Let us know what you find at the show!

Haven't gone yet. Probably next week sometime. Unfortunately, the L.A. show has grown to the point where it's quite crowded all the time as well. Hard to really spend time around the cars, getting good pics, etc. Great that the show now has world premieres, lots of concepts, etc., but you have to be willing to deal with the crowds...
yup, same exact thing in NYC. And its seemed to have gotten more crowded every year. You literally could not stand still in one place, the crowd just moved you no matter how much you wanted to stop and look at the cars :) They have a awesome Jeep set up outside to drive them over obstacles and up and down ramps. My son begged to go the last few years but it was a 2 hour wait minimally..Mommy volunteered to wait in line while they browsed the show(because Mommy wanted to go too :) but Daddy is too impatient :-( Maybe next year!
I love seeing the concepts too.

Let us know if you see anything interesting!
