2017 MKC

Have a few touch screen issues with the new MKC. It started with the touch screen intermittently not coming on at all, back up camera working. It also will stay black some time but the controls can be seen. Now sometimes the screen will come on but the controls are frozen. Cant switch for one screen to the next. Sat at the dealer for 4 days, claimed they could not replicate the problem and need to to see it to order the part. Took it back a week later with the screen not working, they saw it. Still giving us the run around two months later about replacing the screen. Anyone else with touch screen problems?

No problems here. But from my experience with machine control screens, some do fail young. They do not improve themselves. Demand the replacement.

Call the Lincoln concierge and explain to them what is going on...get them to put some pressure on the dealer.

Well the saga continues. It worked just fine for about a week and and now it is having the same issues. Talked to the dealer again today and they finally admitted mine was not the only one. They claim Lincoln has no fix at this time. SYNC 3 was supposed to correct all the problems. Looks like this is going to be a sequel to SYNC all over again.

Issues to look for.
1. Screen goes black and blank after start up and can not be recovered, even after shutting the car off and restarting. Everything works fine the next day.
2. Screen goes black but controls are still visible and function normally.
3. Screen goes black, controls are still visible but are frozen and do not function.
4. Screen is normal, controls visible and function, but can't switch from one screen to the next. (audio to Climate)

Any of this sounding familiar? This is a 2017 MKC with less than 1000 miles on it purchased new in November 2016.

If any of these issue show up on yours it is not a fluke. It will continue to happen more regularly as time goes buy. The backup camera continues to work normal during the problems, so it appears that it is not the screen it self.

Starrider,
I wouldn't take the dealers word for Lincoln/Ford not having a fix at this time. There are a lot of Sync 3's in the field and major crashes like this are rare and believe we would see a lot more complaints herein if no fix was avail.
I would ask the dealer to get Lincoln's area rep in to review and if that fails to resolve write a letter to Fords CEO, Mark Fields and Lincoln's President, Kumar Galhotra with copies to your dealer. Direct contact information for both is avail on line (chk Google). I have had a few issues that required such action over the years with retailers and oil companies and it is amazing how quickly solutions are found. Have always kept the letters to one page, polite but direct in the problem and what I wanted to be done.
Good luck, you deserve better than what you have received to date.
