Hi, the rear door (trunk) of Tuxedo Metallic Black MKC was accidentally introduced to my garage door leaving (approximately) a 1/2" x "1/6" bare (to the metal) scratch that I thought I would repair with with touch-up paint and would first, appreciate your thoughts - comments as to the best way to fix it and second, should I go to the dealership or can I purchase 2015 MKC Tuxedo Black Metallic touch-up paint somewhere else?
Thanks guys,
Bob

We asked our customer service rep at the dealership to get us some touch up paint for our MKC. He sent it to us UPS at no charge.

Now that is an awesome dealer.
I know some try to get every penny out of you and overall don't provide a good experience.

I think dealers should include 1 touch up paint pen with every car they sell.

We've always asked for touch up paint whenever we've purchased a new or pre-owned vehicle from a dealership. We've never had one charge us for it.

Oh yes, I once needed some touch up paint for a BMW and I was charged. Not only that but it basically came in a nail polish bottle. I eventually needed more and just had it mixed at a paint shop.

I think they all should do it by default, including it with the owners manual along with all the other paper work and what ever goodies they by default already include.
Amazon sells it from a Ford dealer actually. I just picked up the new pens in a 2 pack that has one color (Tuxedo Black) and one clearcoat in a pen tip style which makes chip touch up and scratch touch up easier...

I've always gotten it from the dealer with my car but not this one...had to order my own.
Have you heard of Dr. Color Chip ?

If you try it let us know how it works.

That looks great but i'd probably pass it by an automotive detailing forum to see what those pro's have to say about it and suggest otherwise.
there is an issue with the posted link.....
Which link are you referring to? The ones in post 8 and 9 work fine for me.
I deleted a post that had a virus/malware link.
