If you were unhappy with Lincoln & sold your MKC What would be your next vehicle?????

One of the "Other" vehicles I looked at was a Land Rover, they are quite an impressive machine, pricy but pretty awesome...what stopped me was I liked the general smaller size the MKC offered, and it's features...
Many years ago (23/24 years ago I bought a used military decommissioned Jeep from an auction. Now that was an in your face serious good 4 x 4 lacked creature comforts other than basics, but used it on hunting trips and out on trails including mudding. I ended up selling it a few years later, because I did not have any room left in my driveway to park it ( we had bought new cars at the time) so it had to go.
The "Other" vehicle I was VERY interested in at the same time I was looking at the Range Rover was the Grand Jeep Cherokee SRT8.... potent, fast, and pretty credible in off road use, again a lil on the large side for what I needed.

When LR turns this into a hard top convertible I'm buying that, a big boat, and moving to Miami. Better yet anywhere in the Keys, too much traffic in Miami, we can visit.

And when we win the lottery too :)

Or skiing

In the mountains. Has a special ski "trunk". Funny for a convertible.

If I stick to my plan of going back to just one vehicle, I'll trade it when my S6 lease is up this spring and come home with a new S6 or an S7 -
However, if I were to just replace it, I think I'd get the new GMC Canyon midsize pick-up.
I really enjoyed the Infiniti QX50 I test drove when I got my MKC. But at the time, I was worried the ride height was a little lower than I wanted. But it sure was a blast to drive. Otherwise, heck I maybe would still stick w/ Lincoln and get an MKX, lol!
I will add one thought to the original question.."if you were unhappy with your MKC and sold it, what would you buy in the same general price range"
I will certainly admit that price has something to do with what I decide to purchase because it if didn't, there was no way I would have bought the MKC. But, since price is a major factor and they were dealing and offering good incentives back in June, and I liked the car, that is what I chose.
So to answer the original question but keep the price in the MKC ballpark, I's go with the Acura RDX. What many of us are having problems with our MKC's is reliability and our experiences at the Lincoln dealerships service departments. Those are two areas that I think Acura has mastered...through my own experience. Why didn't I buy the RDX? It's a little larger then I need, I don't think it looks as nice as our MKC's and because they had just done a model makeover right when I was ready to buy, they were not dealing, hence I would have paid around $3k more for a comparably equipped RDX and I was not willing to do that. Now in hindsight...I'm not sure if it would'nt have been money well spent?

Had a few Hondas and liked the new Acuras but I could go round and round on this...no remote start (like Lincolns) no cool welcome mat or lighting, thought MKC interior nicer, the tech wasn't quite there last year but I see for 2016 they have stepped it up. Even with spending much more money I could not get those things anywhere else...which is why I kept coming back to the MKC..only wishes would be 360/surround camera (like infiniti) and a heads up display/digital speedometer (options available from other manufacturers )
Mercedes was close but still no remote scheduling starts (which ironically does not work for me right now but it did LOL) Its a feature along with the other remote features (most remote systems require you to be within a certain distance to use it) I use all the time and love. It is so great to be able to start my frozen car on our last chair lift up skiing...so by the time we get to the car and have to strip off our layers we have a nice warm car instead of having to freeze or wait for it to warm up. Perfect. Same for summer, you can set it and have your car icy cold instead of jumping in and sweating before the A/C cools everything off. They need to add sun roof open/close functionality in case you forget and it rains (or if you are always forgetting if you closed it or locked the doors-love I can reassure myself instead of walking back to car to hit FOB)

Hi
A 2017 Cadillac SRX.
If they price the 2017 SRX like they did the 2014 CTS it will be a sales disaster like the CTS has been. Like Lincoln, Cadillac is trying to rebuild its reputation. My experience with Cadillac (I owned a CTS) was less than stellar.
You can probably find people who have had great experiences and people that have had bad experiences with EVERY manufacturer out there, good and bad luck is how I look at it...my Cadillac experience was good in no real problems (so not a lot of contact with dealership service department to rate them but that is ideally what you want- no trips to the service department means no problems, car is good)

Thing we found annoying is inability to do some basic stuff like change a blinker bulb without removing wheels/front end then a $479 charge from the dealer to do it! Thought that was a little extreme :)

I really wanted the Lexus RX,but it was $15,000 more.
I also like 2 door Mercedes Coupes.

I thought i would get the Lexus in 2 years, but did you see what they did to the Exterior.
Whoever came up with that front end ruined the look's of Lexus.

So what is next i don't know.
We passed on the RX due to the looks alone. Plus its now even bigger! The smaller Lexus crossover (NX?) has been slammed by some of the auto reviewers. We passed on that also.

Driving to supermarket this evening I pass by my Audi dealer. They had a row of q5 and q3 on the road and I just noticed Audi updated their front grille too. Need time to sit on this one but first impressions are cool! Bold kind of like Lexus but not obnoxious. Nothing sticks out (my qualms ) and it's kind no of almost a hybrid blacked out grille and looks like Audi symbol is larger. If the symbol lights up I'm buying one LOL (loved that option on the MB GLA)

Excuse the picture it was dark, I stopped on my way back and sun went down so you can't see it that well. When I passed a white one in daylight it really stood out and caught my eye. One of the reasons I tilted to the MKC was because the Q5 hasn't changed much in design in a while and everyone around here has one..wanted something different.

What do you guts think of this grille?

Another shot

Cool or ugly?

First I thought cool, now I'm thinking a little too big

Need some time with it...

Ugly. I've not been a fan of Audis since the "shield grille" design philosophy started. Reminds me of several large-mouthed sea creatures. Not to mention the nightmare that was my 2005 VW...I don't care what they do or how they look, I will never own another VW/Audi. And their latest shenanigans have sealed it.

Hi
Yes the Cadillacs are much more expensive. You get nothing for 43 thousand.
My MKC has all I could want and need. To me it's a no brainier.

Yup didn't take long for me to make my decision after looking at original grille side by side - no, too big. And like you said looks like a big fish mouth LOL now that I look at it in daylight closer. I do like the mostly blacked out look for it though. Wow when you look at the pictures online it doesn't look as bad as in person I think. Not as bad as Lexus' but overall I'm not a fan...
