Zen

My wife and I have noticed a very interesting phenomenon that I somehow doubt is an intentional feature of our MKC....

Occasionally, after we back out of our garage, we'll put the car in P while we type in a GPS address. When we're sitting still with no music playing, we'll hear what sounds like ocean waves coming from the rear of the vehicle. My initial instinct is that it has something to do with noise suppression or cancellation via the sound system, but it's odd how pronounced it is... Is it our MKC trying to create a brief moment of Zen prior to hitting the road? Does it think we're going to develop road rage? Or is it somehow sending us messages that we need to invest in beachfront property?

Has anyone else heard this? Should I contact paranormal investigators?

Probably the fuel pump running.....
But selectable New Age music sounds would be cool!
Morning from Florida,
When the water reaches the rocker panel, (ocean waves) I'd get out of the car and start swimming
Just Joking, This is the best Lincoln I have ever owned.
I have the 2.0 Reserve w/19" wheels since Oct 2014 and am very impressed with the power it has and the looks I get on the road.
Good Luck with yours

That's the heated seats. I have no idea why it makes that sound. But it drove us mad trying to figure out what it was. It only come on when you turn on the heated seats
Hmmm... I will have to check out the heated seats theory.

Last night I noticed that when I only moved the car a couple feet and stopped and put it in park I could hear the gas in the tank moving. It sounded like water up against the side of a floating boat. My assumption was this is what they were hearing....

The seat bottoms and backs have small fans that blow heat and cool air through the perforations depending on the setting. The fans cycle on and off depending on the setting. They use a TED to create the heat or cool air in which the fans then blow through the perforations.
Very interesting theory about the fans in the seats... This will take some experimenting! I appreciate the responses... Otherwise the built in new age relaxation track is a very cool feature. :)
