I have a 2019 Lincoln MKC which is in the possession of a Lincoln/ Ford dealership currently after being informed by my local auto shop that I have an internal coolant leak which is listed on Lincoln’s technical service bulletin. I have spoken to Lincoln’s corporate concierge however, they are not willing to issue a recall due to the monetary expense to replace all of the defective engines. This is a Class Action waiting to happen.
Apr 23 - I have the same issue with my 2019 MKC 2.3. How did this turn out for you?
 
My best research indicated revised 2.0 block went into production April 18, 2019. Builds before this date, (I am one of them) well, fingers crossed for good luck!
You are correct, anything after April 2019 should have the revised open deck redesigned block that "should not" crack between cylinders. The area between the cylinders were beefed up where they cracked. We have a 2019 MKC that was built in 6-2019, fingers crossed, but we also have a 2012 Ford Explorer with 2.0 with 202,000 miles and still running like new which was a closed deck design. Although I've done service on it since we have had it.
 
New owner of a 2019 MKC 2.0T FWD with a build date 7/19 and just over 20k miles.
It currently looks and runs like new.
How do I know if my engine block is the one with the open deck issue?

According to CarFax, my 2019 MKC was delivered to the dealership in Jan 2019. so it obviously falls in the "faulty" batch of engines. Thank you for the information.
 
Just started on this journey - wth? Car was serviced 3k miles ago then all of a sudden there are tumbleweeds in the coolant reservoir? 2017 Lincoln MKC - what am I looking at cost wise? Any help and info greatly appreciated. Local Lincoln dealers here suck
Need a class action lawsuit. Ford knew this engine design was bad. They switched it out within a couple of years.
 
Make sure you report the incident to the nhtsa for data logging. They're the gatekeepers as far as recalls are concerned.

I wonder if I might ask for a little "Plain speak".

Here's my car:
2017 Lincoln MKC Black label.
2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo-four rated at 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque
Current miles: (02-22-24) = 71,059
In service date = 04-01-2017
I purchased the vehicle used on = 12-15-2018
Bumper to bumper warranty = 4 years or 50,000 mles (This expired on 04-01-2021)
Powertrain warranty = 6 year or 70,000 miles (I I believe is expired as well.)

With regards to this coolant leaking and engine replacement business.
TSB 22-2229.

Would everyone agree that my MKC is one of the vehicles that MIGHT experience this issue ?

And would everyone agree that, absent a recall, I am pretty much "on the hook" for the full cost of any work done as referenced in the TSB ?

I THINK, the answer is YES, to both questions.
