Nice job!! 2.4.* is a little risky but with the OBDlink EX you should minimize your risk. I was wondering if a simple flash would fix that little module. Nice find!!

Can someone provide the EJ7T-14B673-AM file or a link? I can not seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks!
It should be available for download if it is ready for an update as long as you have version 2.4 of forscan.

My 2014 MKZ has the SAME issue. The trunk is shut --> and therefore the battery is draining.
The computer module that controls the trunk also controls the doors, so I cannot disconnect it.

Apparently, the computer module needs to be reprogrammed.
Does this sound right?

You probably won't get much of a response here, the MKZ and the MKC are completely different cars.

My mother has exactly the same liftgate problem as Carl Jeppson's wife's 2015 MKC has. The liftgate, on her used Lincoln MKC, would make cycling noises, and if she did not drive it every day the battery would discharge and eventually the battery went bad and had to be replaced. After that, the liftgate latch quit responding completely. Since it is the manually only model, there is no activation button inside the vehicle or on the fob, only the button next to the latch. Apparently it went to the dealer about a year ago for liftgate issues, but she is not sure that it was completely fixed. I do not have computer diagnostic help where it is located. How did you resolve your problem?

We had the same exact issue. We Replaced one Module, nothing, then replaced the 2nd one. Success. There are two modules. We also had to update the navigation system, and then have the dealership program the modules so they could "speak" to each other. It cost us close to $1000. Now..... the sensor to open it from outside (I have the hands free, kick your foot under) is not working. My husband hopes it was not plugged back in (underneath); after he did the initial rundown or we need a new fuse. Cross your fingers 🤞

I had the same issue with a 2015 MKC. Fixed by replacing the module - I also used a newer (2017) version. Everything works now perfectly. I DO NOT have the power lift gate - just the cinch motor to fully close. Anyway - the new module fixed it.
